Transcript for "GovDash Live: New Features That Make Winning Easier":
Alright. Welcome, everybody. We hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend and are having a great Wednesday. We're really excited to get started. If you have any questions during this webinar, please feel free to put them in our q and a box on the right side of your screen, and, we'll get to them at the end. So, along with me today, I have lead engineer Gavin Klein. Gavin is, the the founder actually of our capture cloud, the founding engineer. So he's gonna talk a lot about capture cloud today. Along with Gavin, I also have Sean, the CEO of GovDash, and they're both gonna really talk about some trends we've been seeing within the product, and just future plans as well as current, updates. So we're really, really excited, to get started. We're so glad you like the commercial, Alyssa. That's awesome. Alright, Sean. I'm gonna hand it off to you. Awesome. Thank you, Lauren. And, thank you everyone for being here today. We really do appreciate it. So I think the best part of this, webinar is gonna be Gavin sharing a bit more about what's gone into the capture cloud recently, as well as what we're adding there. But to start, I'd like to talk a little bit about the evolution of GovDash over time and where we're going here more generally. So, for for any of you that were with GovDash or have seen the GovDash application quite early on, you probably know that it started off as a, a tool to help with proposal development. So it was very much focused on document association document breakdowns, compliance packages, outline creation proposals. A natural extension of that though, and in in order to actually produce good proposals, you need to have really good data about your own company, and you also need to do the work of getting great capture context in there so that we can ultimately produce a high quality proposal. And so that's how Webex has formed over time and why in the product today, you see not just the proposal cloud, but also the capture cloud module and the contract cloud module, which are designed for BD and capture and contract teams. So I'm gonna share my team, my screen here to quickly show, how this actually works in the system today. So one moment. Okay. Alright. And hopefully, everyone can see this now. But the way this actually flows in GovDash, and we'll open up the sidebar here, to actually have a view of this, is that opportunities in the system flow, basically down the the sidebar here in terms of ordering. So this is where we'll find opportunities and bid match. We'll then manage those opportunities from a capture development perspective, in the capture cloud, which Gavin is gonna speak to a bit more after this. When we do qualify an opportunity using things like our our own intuition features like the capability may matrices with explanations of what we've done previously that relates to the scope of the current task we're looking at, when it comes to solution development. All that gets done here and this data then flows into our proposal cloud. And and the proposal cloud itself will use all of that context in our response that we ultimately end up producing. Now, the contract cloud piece of this as well was added to the system because almost everything that we do in the business development process is touched by our contract and past performance data. This is where we see contract teams coming in and using GovDash for first of all, like organizing all their their contract data from the the auto classification of documents and the data extraction. And then also, they're able to use GovDash to run workflows on top of this information, things like generating monthly status reports, asking questions about their their contract and financial data, and much more. Now, the reason why I shared my screen here is to show how these modules, relate to each other or are actually are actually interdependent today. But I also wanna talk a little bit about where these modules are going. We're doubling down with our investments as a company in each one of these areas. And by that, I mean, we're hiring additional engineers and also domain experts, and also just by working with our customers to increase the depth in each one of these core modules. What Gavin will speak to you on the capture development side, is how GovDash has already turned into a CRM for many of our clients, but is gonna go much deeper in terms of how you're able to use it for that use case. On the proposal cloud side, you'll see additional functionality added to the proposal modules, in terms of, things like pricing, in terms of how you're able to review your con or your proposals once they've been, produced and are exported out to Word and much more as well. And last but not least, on the contract cloud side, we're rolling out tons of functionality to make the system more generally useful for contract team members. Right now, it's very useful as a data management system, but we're we're designing explicit workflows for contract teams so that they can manage live contracts and the compliance and data requirements on those. Now, I wanna turn it over to Gavin here, but before I do that, I wanna talk a little bit about the growth of the capture cloud and that's what he's going to talk about here. On the capture cloud, this is actually our fastest growing product area. So teams are using GovDash, not just for producing proposals, but also for identifying opportunities to go after and then qualifying and developing solutions for those opportunities. We've seen a four x increase year over year in terms of the number of opportunities that teams are managing within their capture pipelines on GovDash. We've also seen a two x increase generally in activities that they run within the offers opportunities. And activities are things like, using Dash to identify some information using its deep research functionality about an opportunity, such as looking for potential competitors and how you stack up against them, finding teaming partners that may be able to fill certain gaps, and also general collaboration functionality that Gavin will show in just a minute as well. So with that, I'll turn it over to Gavin, and we'll jump right in. Thanks, Sean. Hi, everyone. Hope you're having a good Wednesday. My name is Gavin. I'm a lead founding engineer here at GovDash, and I focus on the capture cloud. So what that means is I focus on building tools that make it easier for contractors to find, track, and win government contracts. We're shaping the capture cloud to match real workflows of capture and BD teams. So a little bit about me, my background. I studied computer science and played lacrosse at Syracuse. That's kinda where I, honed my competitive edge. So I wanna win for, you know, the capture cloud and for GoDaddy, but even more than that, I want customers to win, and I wanna help our customers win. In terms of work experience, I had two kind of very different but but complimentary roles. At c I CACI, I worked on PM IVAS, which was developing mission critical software with Microsoft to support recon and soldier operations. I was also a core contributor to the back end team at WAP, which is marketplace for digital goods and services. And while I was there, I helped skilled I helped scaled, and built systems that support over 1,000,000 monthly active users. Those experiences taught me how to build scalable, reliable systems in high stakes environments. And all that leads me to GovDash where I joined last May. Point of this webinar is to kinda show off some of the features we've been working on, under the hood in the Capture Cloud and some other parts of the product, and, maybe a little sneak peek at some new features. So before I get into demo here, a little context. One of the biggest pain points, I hear from BD capture and proposal teams is how fragmented proposal tracking can get. You might respond to a source of sought or an RFI, and then later one or multiple, RFP volumes. But each one kinda ends up being siloed, and you're either gonna be stuck duplicating work or or losing context somewhere. That's exactly the problem we're we're solving with our next big release, which is multiple proposal support. So what this means is you can now attach multiple proposals to a single opportunity, and the data between them will kind of be shared intelligently with no lost work or duplicated work. So let me share my screen here, and I'll give you guys a little tour of this. Cool. So here is the capture cloud. Kind of the, I'd say, the old process for this is maybe you'd find, an ROFI or source of sought that drops in bid match. Maybe you wanna see the newest ones first so you can get everything quick. I've already gone ahead and added one just for the sake of speed today. But, once you have your opportunity added to the pipeline, you'll be able to kind of talk with your team, take notes, track tasks and deliverables that are needed to kind of pursue this opportunity. Maybe you'll be looking at the documents to figure out requirements or, evaluation criteria, things that government's looking for. You might also be running capability matrices. In this case, it's my test team. So, our our past performance of soybean farming doesn't quite match up with electromagnetic spectrum operations, but, that's alright. So, we also have a view of kind of all of our documents here that are attached to this opportunity, and then we can kind of get into our capture plan. So you can think of this as as building up context and data relevant to how you want to respond to this opportunity or to help you, making a go or no go decision, which is where we have our our date review feature. And this will help you kind of present your findings to the team, leave comments, and track these things together to make sure, this opportunity is a good fit. Now historically, at this point, you would spin up an outline. You know, this case, it's a source of sauce, so a little bit of a smaller one, and you generate a proposal. Then you would have to either go back to the capture cloud or to the proposal cloud, start a whole new opportunity, and kick off the RFP. This is what I'm excited to share is that now you can actually just spin up a new proposal from inside the opportunity. Let's say we'll call this one the RFP. And let's say just for the sake of demonstration, some of these documents aren't actually relevant for the RFP. You can remove them here, it won't affect the the kind of parent opportunity, those documents will still be attached. In this case, we only care about these documents for this proposal. I'll kinda speed through these. And you'll see this RFP will start processing. So what you're gonna notice here is these documents are kind of distinct from the two documents you or or the three documents, at the parent level. But you can also see in our sources sought, these are still under consideration. So we still have these three documents, and this outline will now be geared towards the, RFP. So few notes here. You can kinda think of anything above this line, anything tied to the opportunity specifically as kind of global or shared context, with the exception of these documents. Things like your capture plan will be applied to, you know, any proposals you make. Your capability matrix will will be used as context for any proposal you make. So I'm really excited for everyone to try this out. And let me stop sharing here. So this is the kind of simple fig simplification I'm passionate about, which is taking a messy, complicated workflow, and turning into a single intuitive flow that actually matches how capture and proposal teams, you know, use this in practice. So what's next in the capture cloud? We have a few things coming up that I'm really excited about. First, we have kind of we're we're broadening the coverage of the capture cloud. And so this initiative is already underway, but we're going to be adding SLED support for bid match. So this means our users won't just see federal opportunities. We also have state, local, and education opportunities flowing to the same system, broadening the landscape they can track. Second, we're making the model more flexible with sub and related opportunities. For example, you'll be able to track task orders related to an IDIQ or type related efforts together, giving teams a more complete picture of how work is structured. Third, we're focusing on use usability and customizability, with saved and shareable views. So capture managers or anyone on your team will be able to create views that matter most for your workflow, and share them across your team so that everyone works from the same source of truth. All these keep pushing towards the same goal, which is making capture simpler, smarter, and more aligned with how contractors actually operate. One other little sneak peek I I'd like to demo here is, something that I'm sure a few of you have experienced, but let me share my screen here. Make sure I got the right tab. Here we go. So this is a little sneak peek at our Reporting Center B 2. So before I go into kind of why we built this, I wanna give kind of some context on what we have now. So originally, we had our our reporting center, and this is where teams could go view visualizations related to their data, and use this to kind of inform maybe different action in your company. This is great, but it's kind of static. It doesn't allow a lot of customization. And sometimes, you know, the visually visualizations might not be applicable to your team. So with that, we added the dynamic reporting components a few months back. And so this is something that's meant to be a little more fluid, giving you an idea of how your opportunities or proposals or contracts are looking at any given point in time. So let's say we wanted to group by NAICS, we could see kind of what our biggest NAICS codes are in terms of value or count. And this was good, but it kind of left a lot to be desired. So that brings us back to this reporting center B 2. And this isn't alpha right now. This isn't accessible quite yet, but this is something we're we're looking to get into beta in the next probably week or so. So a few, fun things about this. So first off, you're gonna see that the views here are fully customizable. These aren't going to be the defaults, you know, for the release, but just for the sake of demo, these are some that I've made. You can delete views, you can rename them, You can add new views. And so what this might look like is a view for your capture team, a view for your proposal team, maybe a view for your contract team. With all these views, you can control kind of the time frame of the data you're looking at. So, we can see this is kind of in the past two weeks compared against two weeks previous to that. We also have the ability to fully customize these layouts. So what you'll see is, you know so you wanna move these around. You can also resize things. You can copy these images of these kind of visualizations to the clipboard, use these in Word docs, Excel sheets, and you can also add new widgets. So, our standard widgets are kind of precut, historical over time metrics we've been tracking. We take snapshots pretty once in a while just to, see the trends over time. Each of these will have, you know, a different set of visualizations here, which, you know, is gonna be expanded upon, of course. You can also preview different sizes here. We also have the dynamic widgets. So this is the same thing that you'll see in the capture cloud, contract cloud, proposal cloud. These will give you kind of a direct snapshot, a live snapshot of your data at this current point in time. So let's say we want to look at I don't know if we have yeah. We can see some some capture managers, and the value assigned to the proposals they're they're assigned to. And then we can go and add this widget. This will persist, and it's viewable by your entire team. So you guys can customize these and build these out to to match your needs, and fit your workflows. Think that is about everything in the kind of capture and reporting side of things. One other thing I wanted to share is some updates we've been making to the data library, and to, kind of our document viewers. So, in the data library, we've recently added a dashboard view. So this is gonna let you visualize your document breakdowns, monitor compliance, and pick up pick up where you left off with with new the data library dashboard. The document details page gives you complete searchable view of any document in your data library as well as historical document relationships, history, kind of changes made to that document, tags, and and dash powered insights. So now I'll share kind of a little quick walk through of that. K. So you see here, this is a a quick look at our new data library dashboard. We give you a cool few cool visualizations. You can see, your documents by the type we've classified them as. We give you a look into your staffing pool, how many of your, your employees or or teammates have, resumes or don't have resumes. You also, of course, get a quick look at the documents you recently uploaded. We show you document breakdown by tags, and few other things, word compliance, people in your staffing pool. In terms of the documents here, we also are going to give you a viewer here where you can see, you know, any document. You can view the relationships, the things we've pulled out of it or might be using in other parts of the product. So you can see in this case, this one is tied to an award. And you can also see that I added this document this morning. You can also search here. So this will give you a look at, you know, specific keywords you're trying to look for. And this experience should kind of mirror, a similar experience to what you'll see in our our shred viewer or in our compliance matrix. You can also use dash to summarize this. And, yeah, we're really excited for for everyone to kinda get their dip their hands into this one. Let me go back to the slides now. So, obviously, there's a lot going on behind the scenes at at GovDash. Capture Cloud is always busy. Other parts of the product are busy. So now we're gonna talk a little bit about product updates, and how you can stay in the loop on what we're working on and, what we have coming up. So there are a few places you can find this. And, Lauren, are you cool. Okay. We'll pass this one off to Lauren who will explain a little more in-depth on this one. I'm gonna Lauren may be having some technical difficulties, so I'm happy to jump in here. Yeah. So so in terms of staying up to date on product progress, at GovDash, this is something that's really important to us. So we want everyone to be, first of all, aware of what's gone into the product, but also aware of, where GovDash is going from here and contributing to that road map. So what you can do in in terms of, always knowing what's new in the product is by hitting this what's new button on the, bottom left corner of your GovDash application. That will take you to a detailed overview of everything that's actually gone into the system, over the last couple of weeks. And I can show a preview of that for the group here. So, I'll share my screen quickly. So, again, you access this by going here and hitting what's new. And you can see this is from August 25. We're gonna be having a new one, coming out quite soon. But this will walk you through everything that went in, and broken down by feature enhancements, bug fixes, and also, individual product areas, as part of the application. Alright. Well, with that, we definitely wanna make sure that we have time for q and a, and also just to if we need to freestyle around any parts of the, the application as well, if anyone wants to to see any specific areas. But just to get us started, so I I see that John has a question here. A couple of questions in the chat. First being, are there separate approaches for the software and hardware hardware and ProServe use cases? That's a really good question. GovDash works with companies, with all sorts of offerings. So product based companies, a lot of service based companies. The application itself is designed to adjust depending on the type of work that you're going after, and the type of offerings that you provide. And so when it builds a profile of your company, and and it do does that based on the data in your data library and your contract lab, and the data library being what what Gavin was just showing before, it will, basically intuit what your business does and represent you in the correct way, when we're answering questions, producing content, etcetera. Also, there's a question here about where GovDash is at in the FedRAMP process. So in terms of GovDash, our security posture, that is all publicly available. You can see that right in our help center, but just to cover this at a high level, GovDash is accessible as your GovCloud and AWS GovCloud, which both have FedRAMP ATOs. Basic things, all of our, all of our, data flows are encrypted in transit and at rest. There's a lot more detail there and also public access to all of our policy documents. In terms of the federal moderate equivalency, audit itself, which is another thing that we've been going for, we expect to have that wrapped up, quite soon. So over the last couple of months, as well as in the the next few weeks here, we'll be having, everything in terms of our infrastructure and just our general processes as a company, audited. And then as soon as that is finalized, everyone will receive an email, that the federal moderate equivalency is there. Awesome. I think there is one last question, John, that you had. I wanna make sure I don't miss any of them. The last question was, does go to extract specific contract clauses and requirements? So, yeah, it does. I'll actually share my screen here because I think this is a a great segue into a bunch of the changes that have gone into GovDash, especially on the, compliance side. So if we jump over to the application here, there's a really good blog post about this that, we can have sent out to to the attendees as well. But if you look at and I'll find a a really big one as a good example like soup. If you go to any opportunity that is running GovDash from here on out, and you go to what's called the compliance tab, what you'll see is that Noah will load this up, because it's a a fairly large opportunity. But it's gonna break down, every single section, every single volume, every single section, subsection, that is gonna have to go into our response. And then for every single one of these sections, when I open it up, it's gonna show you all the requirements and it can and extract out all that down to the individual sentence level. And so for example, if I click on this here, it will be able to actually go ahead and bring me to the area of the document as well where it found this information. You can see this as well in terms of the outlines themselves. So if we jump over and look at any of these outline sections, let's say, we're gonna look at the, category a and we jump over to look at all of our citations here. If I wanted to fill filter down by requirement type, you can also do this. So maybe I only wanna see, evaluation criteria that are relevant to this section. This is how GovDash will show you all that. And just by hovering, it will show you the exact area of the document where it pulled that information for you. I see a question. What do you think is driving the rapid adaption of CaptureCloud? I think that's a great question. It's kinda two parts to what I think. The first part is, obviously, people are using GovDash or or originally were using GovDash for their proposal generations. And what the CaptureCloud offers is a way to kind of streamline the data that flows into that in one place. So instead of having to manage 10 different tools, to track an opportunity and and track down the data related to it, all that happens in GovDash, and and fuels both the postal cloud and the contract cloud in in kind of a virtuous cycle. So, I think that's the first part of it. I also think the second part is kind of just our pace and and, the amount of of features and, hopefully, value that we're we're churning out in, quite a short amount of time. So I'm definitely, you know, really proud of the team, and and what we've built so far, and I'm excited for for what's to come. Yeah. I think a really important point to add to that as well is, I spend a lot of my time talking to you to our our amazing customers that are using GovDash, and, I don't think it's a a mystery to anyone that the pace of work that they've been able to go after over the last couple of quarters has slowed. I think everyone was expecting a rebound over the summer and there has been in some areas, and and now, we're we're expecting more of a full rebound closer to the end of this year. But there still have been generally less solicitations for people to respond to. And that means there's a lot of work happening kind of pre solicitation on the BD side, and a lot of network teams want to run within GovDash itself. And so we've added a ton of functionality in terms of collaboration, qualification, solution development. By the way, if you use the suggested answers in the capture cloud on opportunities, that just got a big overhaul and people are finding that the the responses are even more, impactful than they were previously. But all of that, the reason why I mentioned it is, all of that is really important to making sure that we can qualify and put ourselves in the best position on these opportunities before we actually do get a final RFP. And so lots of teams are using it in in that way to get ahead of the the the future onslaught of opportunities that we're all expecting to see. Now there's another question here, from Bill, related to, teaming partners. So I'm gonna go ahead and pop this open so I can read it back to everyone. But how, how can we do a a deeper dive into the teaming aspects of the tool? Happy to do that, Bill. So I'll go ahead and share my screen here again and show some of these feat features. So the way that teaming information gets into the GovDash today, is through your documentation. So what Gavin was showing in the data library here in terms of this overview, you can see that the system is able to understand the types of documents that you're uploading into GovDash. It's able to see whether, the documents, contain, resumes. Right? If it's related to a business partner or to you or to an employee. But if we jump over to this companies tab here, this is where it'll actually show you a breakdown of the companies that have been detected across your documents. The same thing goes for, individuals that are ident identified across your documentation as well. And what the system does is it will extract out any information about those teaming partners. So, for example, if I wanted to come over here in Dash and say, tell me about my top teaming partners and all this data in in this account is is dummy data, but you'll see that it actually has an understanding of who we've worked with previously. It's searching through our documentation right now to find this information, and it will be able to provide us with a helpful response. So if I go ahead and am working on a proposal and I want the system to incorporate information about these companies, if that documentation is already in there, I simply need to say that I'm teaming with them and what their role is gonna be, and it will factor that in. Now we do have some really exciting features coming down here in terms of, teaming partner, collaboration, where basically you can share, like, a secure live link where if you want them to provide you with additional opportunity for a bid, you can do that and then it will automatically populate in GovDash. It's something we're not rolling out yet, but is has been something that we've been moving closer towards. And you'll see those features just rolled into your accounts as time goes on. I see a question from Alyssa asking, how's it going with the Ebuy integration? Ebuy has a lot of issues on the back end, and I wonder if those cause issues for GovDash. So good question. Our Evo integration in Big Match is actually live. So right now, you could go into the product, and I can I show you here? Yes. We don't have it. I don't have it set up on sig deck yet, but I can show you where to find it. So what we can see here is where to find the BIN batch integration. When you first start, you'll be shown with screen that'll prompt you to link, your Ebuy account. And what this process looks like is adding, an email that redirects to GovDash, as a user to your Ebuy account. And then we'll be able to read the the email sent about opportunities from Ebuy and, use that to populate your your bid match. One fun note there is, as you kind of alluded to, Ebuy has changed some stuff on their back end, but, GovDash is on top of it, and everything is working as expected right now. Awesome. I I think we have time for one more question here. John had a great question about p win. And I think this is a great thing to demo for people. So I'll share my screen one last time here. But p win itself John, to your question, it absolutely can be calculated based on your company information in the system, and I'll show you how. So if I jump over to any opportunity, let's say this one here. Now to start, I would always have go up to running capability package for you because this is going to give you a great overview of every single task here we're gonna need to meet. Right? And then also an explanation of, how it determines whether or not you are are in a good position to meet that the scope of that task. That being said, on any of these opportunities, if we jump over to GovDash here, this is where you could have your assistant do an in-depth analysis on anything, and in this case, p win. So I could say, provide me with a, p win score and, and explanation. And you'll see that the system automatically knows the opportunity that we're working in. So I don't actually need to tell it that we're working on naval special warfare digital advantage. It's gonna be able to go ahead and look at that, for us. And so it will go through all of this data. It will provide us with our score. It should actually even provide us with a table, and it will link back to all these, the documentation where it pulled this information from. So you can do this on any record. And if you also want to have a key win field, which is what a lot of companies will do on their opportunity records, you can go ahead and add a custom field directly to, your capture opportunities just like I did here. And I could say, okay. This is actually, only a 70 for us. And if you do, base 10, so if maybe you're you're you're you're based 10, you could just keep it at, seven. Alright. I see one last question here from Sydney. Do we have time, Sean? Yeah. Let's go for it. Okay. So, for task order RFPs, are those added manually to the capture cloud and or proposal cloud? Good question. So if you were to manually upload an opportunity from GovDash or to GovDash, that will not be manually updated right now. But if you're pull, let's say, a source of sought or an RFI from bid match, once the new RFP drops, that opportunity will automatically be updated with all the relevant information, and documents will also be updated to to reflect the the new RFP that's dropped. We're also actively working on kind of expanding some of these capabilities, so I'm excited to share some more on that once we're closer to release. Awesome. Well, thank you everyone for, spending the the time with us today. Really enjoyed that and fantastic questions too. If you have any other questions that you want covered, please just let us know. We'll make sure to go, and look in your account managers or anyone on the team, to walk you through these things. And as Gavin and I were going over, we've got a really exciting slate of functionality coming into GovDash. Not only in the existing modules like capture development, proposal development, contract management, but also in in future modules that you'll see, helping with, workflows on the post award side. So we've got a lot of great things coming here. None of this would be possible without you, and your your insight. So thanks again. And if you need any assistance afterwards, please let us know. Have a great.
